LARGE FURNITURE
German desk furniture, ash wood, Biedermeier style 18th c (1815 - 1848).
The adjective "Bieder" means simple. This type of design is developed during the Austrian Empire and Central Europe, its furniture and decoration are based on a sober style but that little by little due to its weight and influence is developed in literature and artistic manifestations
For experts, this period is imbued with great sensitivity, despite its simplicity. It arises in circles of the bourgeoisie in the face of the anger of the policies of the state.
The motifs used were flowers, fans, acanthus leaves and medallions. The woods used were ash, cherry and walnut.
